Tanner's Christmas Program, 2009

Tanner's preschool had their Christmas program tonight. It was really cute. I didn't get any pictures of Tanner in the actual program because I was video taping through the whole thing. So hopefully I will blog a video of Tan in his program at some point. It was a ton of work just to get C's two minute video on here.

But we did have fun watching Tanner and the other kids sing about the baby Jesus. Uncle Spencer and Aunt Sara came to watch T, and C was very good -- Hallelujah! They were both running around like crazy children during the clean up, but what else is to be expected?

Hearing Tanner talk about the baby Jesus makes me feel like my Christmas wish to have a Christ-centered Christmas is coming true. I love hearing innocent children testify of Christ.

Tanner's teacher came up to me after the program to tell me that Tanner is a joy to have in class, and that he is just a sweet, sweet boy. Yes, Tan, you are a sweetheart, and I love you very much. You did a great job standing and singing in front of all those people, and we had a fun night out as a family.

Fun With Cedar Before Tanner's Christmas Program

Oh, CC was hamming it up tonight as we waited for Tanner's preschool Christmas program to begin. This is my little angel baby. She is my sweetheart. Grandma and Kimmie, this is who you have waiting for you to come for Christmas!

My Christmas Wish

These last six months or so I have felt more unsettled about the direction the world, and more specifically our country, has been taking. I've publicly spoken my concerns to some degree, trying to make others aware of current issues, and have talked about them with my family in great detail.

As Christmas Day approaches, I feel an earnest desire in my heart to make this Christmas more about the Savior Jesus Christ than I ever have before.

I love the Lord Jesus Christ. He is my Savior, Brother, Exemplar, Friend. I know that he lives, and that he is the only begotten son of my Heavenly Father, whom I also love and worship.

I know they both love me, and know the concerns of my heart. And although my family and I are subject to the decisions that those who take position of power and authority over us make, I know that we are here on this earth to fulfill a purpose that extends far beyond the finite realm of this world.

I am aching for my family to arrive for Christmas because we lift, support, listen to, and just love being with one another. By being together and rejoicing in the royal birth of our Lord this Christmas, I know that my testimony will be strengthened and my resolve to rise above oppressing worldly influences increased.

I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is His church on the earth today. I know that Jesus Christ lives, that he was born in Bethlehem that night, that he lived a perfect life on this earth, and that he atoned for our sins and was crucified that we might each fulfill our eternal potential, and become as He and the Father are today.

I will consciously strive to make this Christmas one in which the Spirit may abide in my home and testify of Christ. In its presence, we will each be edified, our relationships with the Savior and with each other will deepen, and our testimonies will grow. This is my Christmas wish.

Tanner's Christmas Carols

Man my kids are cracking me up the last couple days. Tanner has been watching Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer since the Christmas season started. We also have the soundtrack in my car (yes, I am getting a tad sick of the music) and Tanner has learned a lot of the songs. So he has been walking around singing a lot of the music. He gets a lot of the words right, but a few of his versions are hilarious. This is my favorite:

"Rudolph the red nose reindeer, had a very shiny nose, and if you never sawd it, you can't never say it glows."

He he he. Yes, Tan. That is true.

Christmas lights are "hot"!

Cedar just turned 20 months old, and she was so cute this afternoon as I was putting lights on our Christmas tree. Cedar and Tanner were in the living room with me. As soon as I plugged the first string of lights in, Cedar kept saying they were "hot". It's one of her about five-six words that she says right now. So she got down on her hands and knees and started blowing on the lights. She has been doing that all night as I have been putting them on the tree. She keeps putting her little head into the tree and blowing on the lights because they are hot. Pretty cute, CC. Thanks for the special Christmas moment.
